The great centre of Jain and Brahmana religions, the construction of Osian temples took place in 2 periods. In the first part, around 12 temples were built while in the second part around 6 temples were erected here. One of the most popular temples of this group of temple is the Jain Mahavir Temple, which is known for its vaulted design in the ceiling. Another prime temple is the main Sachiya Mata Temple, which was made in 1178 AD. This temple consists of an ambulatory, a Shikhar and a huge assembly hall.
